The MCC Utility Tool Kit expands on the EOD-1 render safe tooling suite by providing superior hand-actuated cutting ability and shorting capability than the LCC kit, for materials including shielded cable and wire up to 0 AWG, or Ø.325 inch (8.25 mm) in diameter.
Unlike the LCC Utility Tool Kit, the MCC has the added benefit of being electrically isolated from the cutting and shorting action.
The entire unit is mechanically driven, so the operator can feel virtually 100% of the tool’s engagement while in use. Each MCC tool head will fit through a Ø1.00 inch penetration hole or insertion point.
The MCC handle is hand actuated by a power grip design, similar to a squeezing a clamp or pair of pliers. This design provides the operator several hundred of pounds of linear force for cutting and shorting materials such as shielded cable and wire up to 0 AWG, or Ø.325 inch (8.25 mm) in diameter.
The MCC helps your operator reach further with four extensions: two 6-inch extensions, and two 12-inch extensions. When combined, your operator can reach up to 36-inches from the MCC handle. The extensions are 100% mechanical, so there is nearly no loss of cutting ability over extended distances.
Made from aircraft-grade aluminum and machined with precision, the extensions will ensure your EOD render safe operations can be conducted repeatedly and reliably regardless of length.

MCC Handle
Ideal for high-force cutting and shunting EOD render safe operations, the 100% mechanically driven, palm-actuated handle gives operator significant force output during operation. Includes a secondary, extended length handle for an advanced grip. Aircraft grade aluminum and hardened steel components ensure long field life.
6 inch Extension Rods (2 each)
Six inch extension rods afford the operator additional reach. Driven by actuating the MCC handle, this 100% mechanically driven assembly gives the operator nearly no loss in feel during operation. Aircraft grade aluminum and hardened steel components ensure long field life.
12 inch Extension Rods (2 each)
Twelve inch extension rods afford the operator additional reach. Driven by actuating the MCC handle, this 100% mechanically driven assembly gives the operator nearly no loss in feel during operation. Aircraft grade aluminum and hardened steel components ensure long field life.
Case with Foam Cutouts
The MCC kit comes complete in a case with foam cutouts uniquely shaped to house each component of the kit.
MCC-to-LCC Adapter (Pt#310)
The Adapter allows an LCC tool head or LCC extension to be mounted on the MCC handle or an MCC extension. The mechanical design allows virtually 100% of the MCC force to be translated into LCC tool head.
Cutter Head (Pt#330)
The MCC Cutter is ideal for cutting thicker gauge wire and shielded cable up to gauge 0 AWG wire, or Ø.325 inch (8.25 mm) in diameter. Produces a 0.15 inch slug of removed material.
Talon Head (Pt#380)
The MCC Talon is a cable shunting device that allows shorting of a shielded cable without cutting.
The MCC Talon drive head is intended for standard coax and wires between Ø .125 and Ø.25 inch (3 to 6 mm) in diameter.
The Talon Head shunting device design is centered on the typical Type ‘C’ High Voltage Coaxial Cable that is sized Ø .195” in diameter.
Deployable Pin
The Talon Head utilizes a “bed of nails” type of arrangement in a small deployable pin head that is driven by the MCC Talon head. This deployable pin is proven to produce a remarkable 0% failure in shunted cable.
The MCC kit comes with only XXX deployable pins.
