30:1 Cutter – Compact EOD Render Safe Entry Tool

The 30:1 Cutter is a versatile entry-making tool designed to help EOD professionals create access through a wide range of barriers and materials. From explosive ordnance disposal to tactical entry, it delivers the mechanical advantage and reliability needed to accomplish the mission.

Best For: Access creation and barrier penetration.

The 30:1 cutter is a hand-actuated tool that provides exceptional cutting ability, part of the EOD render safe tooling suite
(30:1 Cutter open in the 17:1 configuration)

Create Access Through Challenging Barriers

The 30:1 cutter is a compact hand tool that allows an operator to create entry similar to a bolt-cutter or nibbler tool during explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) render safe operations. The unique mechanical design provides exceptional cutting ability – up to 30:1 mechanical advantage.

Built for real-world operations, the 30:1 Cutter creates access through barriers such as sheet metal, chain link fence, expanded metal grating, padlocks, steel rod, nails, screws, stainless steel wire and more.

The entire unit is mechanically driven, so the operator can feel virtually 100% of the tool’s engagement.

Designed to meet a wide array of field challenges, the 30:1 Cutter comes with three sets of modular interchangeable blades, purpose-built to meet the unpredictable needs in the field.

Unlike many comparable tools, the 30:1 cutter only weighs 8.13 oz (230g) when equipped with the heaviest blades. The full kit weighing only 9.5 oz (269g).

Additionally, the collapsible design allows operators to conveniently store the cutter when not in use.

One Tool. Multiple Mission Applications.

The 30:1 Cutter provides operators with a compact, mechanically advantaged solution for a wide variety of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) tasks. Whether creating access to suspicious packages, breaching hardened barriers, or overcoming field obstacles, its modular blade system enables the operator to quickly adapt the tool to changing operational requirements. The quick-change process allows the operator to maintain the control needed during critical render safe operations.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal

Create access to suspicious packages and devices.

Tactical Entry

Breach containers, vehicles and structures.

Breach Barriers

Penetrate fences, metal panels, locks, and chains.

Asset Recovery

Minimized risk of damage to assets held within container.

Sheet Metal Entry Applications

Designed for Conex Boxes, Metal Panels, and Similar Barriers

Designed to create access in conex boxes, and ideal for creating inspection openings, the 30:1 Cutter enables operators to create access in sheet metal up to 14 gauge (Ø.075 inch, 1.90 mm) by a cutting action that resembles a punch and die style nibbler tool.

The cutter is driven forward by hand to incrementally “bite”, removing up to ¼ inch of material in every action.

The cutter can be applied in two arrangements, with the handle in either a normal or upper position, each providing the operator with different advantages. In the normal position, the operator can actuate the cutter with a single hand, but is limited to a 17:1 mechanical advantage. In the upper position, the operator can apply the full 30:1 mechanical advantage, but must use two hands to actuate the cutter.

The 30:1 Cutter includes two sets of interchangeable sheet metal blades: a normal blade designed to make entry through a hole and a heavy blade designed to cut through welds in conex boxes.

A toolless blade exchange makes swapping the blades fast and convenient.

Barrier Cutting Applications

Designed for Padlocks, Chain Link Fence, Expanded Metal Grating, Steel Rod, and Hardened Materials

The 30:1 Cutter allows operators to create access through barriers up to 6 gauge (Ø.192 inch, 4.88 mm) by a cutting action that resembles a bolt cutter tool. Simply change the blades to the from sheet metal to link cutting, and overcome barriers including:

Just like a bolt-cutter, the 30:1 Cutter is placed around the material, then cut by depressing the handle. The material is then severed between the two cutter edges.

The 30:1 Cutter includes the two necessary blades: the Chain-Link Cutter blade and Anvil. Both are made from hardened steel and will endure repeated use during EOD render safe operations.

Why EOD Operators Choose the 30:1 Cutter

Engineered for precision. Built for Safety. Designed for mission success.

High Mechanical Advantage

Generate exceptional cutting force by hand. The 30:1 Cutter delivers between 17:1 and up to a 30:1 mechanical advantage, enabling operators to create access through tough materials while reducing the physical effort required.

Rapid Barrier Access

Create access through a wide range of barriers. Purpose-built cutting blades are designed to penetrate sheet metal, chain link fencing, padlocks, expanded metal grating, braided steel wire, bolts, nails, screws, and similar barriers encountered during field operations.

Adaptable To Mission Requirements

Interchangeable blades equip operators to adapt to changing field conditions. Three specialized blade configurations allow the cutter to be quickly configured for sheet metal entry, heavy-cut applications, or chain-link and hardened material cutting.

Configurable Cutting Performance

Choose the mechanical advantage that best fits the task. Operators can switch between a one-handed 17:1 configuration for maneuverability or a two-handed 30:1 configuration when maximum cutting force is required.

Lightweight & Field Ready

Carry powerful cutting capability without unnecessary weight. A compact, collapsible design weighing only 9.5 oz (270 g, full kit) allows the cutter to be easily transported, stored, and deployed during field operations.

Built For Long-Term Service

Dependable performance across repeated render safe missions. Precision-machined components and a robust mechanical design ensure long-term repeated use, while toolless blade changes minimize downtime.

What is included With the 30:1 Cutter

The 30:1 Cutter comes field-ready for EOD render safe operations.

30:1 Cutter Handle

Ideal for entry-making and barrier penetration for EOD render safe operations, the 100% mechanically driven handle gives the operator between 17:1 to 30:1 mechanical advantage, and reconfigures within seconds. Collapsible design makes transport convenient. Aircraft grade aluminum and hardened steel components ensure long field life.

Sheet Metal Blades
(Normal Blade Pt#510-001 | Heavy Blade Pt#510-002)

Two sets of interchangeable sheet metal blades: a normal blade designed to make entry through a hole or open end, and a heavy blade designed to cut through welds in conex boxes. Both sets are made from hardened steel.

Chain Link and Anvil Blades
(Blade Pt#510-003 | Anvil Pt#510-004)

Two sets of interchangeable bolt cutting blades: the chain link blade and the anvil blade. These blades allows to cut through commercial chain link fence, padlocks and more. Both sets are made from hardened steel.

Case with Foam Cutouts

The 30:1 Cutter comes complete in a case with foam cutouts uniquely shaped to house each component of the kit.
